Church Family Picnic (June 25, 2023): Even though the weather forecast wasn’t favorable, we went full speed ahead with our plans for the picnic. God blessed us as the
storms and rain moved around us with only an occasional shower. The day turned out wonderful for the 43 members of Fountain Park GMC who attended the annual picnic.
As always there was plenty pf delicious homemade food, desserts and of
course brats & burgers for everyone. Plus summer refreshments like ice cold lemonade to quench our thirst.
Several attendees participated in dart baseball games. While others enjoyed socializing with past members that were in attendance. It was a good
time for all at our annual church family picnic at Veteran’s Park in Sheboygan.
Thank you to everyone that made donations for this fun day and to the Adult & Family Committee for organizing this annual event!

challenge and laughs. Some hole themes were; the outhouse hole, railroad hole, soccer hole, Noah’s Ark hole, road construction hole, and kitchen hole. Some holes had multiple holes in layers. Andy Schmidt navigated the course with
the best score of 43. While Kelly Johnston collected the most

Feed My Starving Children (October 15, 2022): Ten volunteers from FPUMC joined other volunteers to pack food that will be distributed throughout the world to starving children. The work if fun and fast paced. We worked a 2 hour shift that goes by quickly. During the shift a total of 120 boxes were packed. Each box contains 36 food bags, so that means we made 4,320 food bags. Each food bag makes 6 meals, so we made 25,920 meals. That will feed 71 children one nutritional meal a day for a full year that will eliminate the effects of starvation. What a wonderful way to bless so many with only a little bit of your time.

Group Workcamp in Sheboygan County (June 26th to July 1st, 2022)
During the week of June 26th to July 1st Christian youth from around the country gathered in Sheboygan County to fix-up homes. But their journey to do this job actually started over two years ago.
Plans were being made in 2019 by the host church, Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan working in coordination with Group Workcamps. But unfortunately those plans came to a halt due to the pandemic in 2020. But the members of Fountain Park UMC didn’t lose hope and immediately shifted plans to a future date. Those plans became reality in 2022 when 201 teenagers
and their adult leaders from eight states arrived in Sheboygan on June 26th.
Group Workcamps are a non-profit ministry, interdenominational Christian volunteer home repair organization headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado. Each summer over 12,000 high school youth and adults will participate in 35 work camps in communities across the United States.
Here in Sheboygan County the youth & adults were divided into 34 work crews and finished 35 job sites spread out in Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Oostburg, Elkhart Lake, Adell, Howards Grove and Cleveland. Repairs to these properties are done free of charge to improve the homes of the elderly, disabled and low-income residents. Work included interior and exterior painting, weatherization, porch and wheelchair ramp construction, plus other work. All work is supervised by volunteer contractors. Lisa Radder, Fountain Park UMC camp coordinator, says these youth are amazing. “Each one is actually paying for the privilege of working in our community. Workcamp fees are used to help
cover costs for food, insurance and building material.”
Workcamp participants were housed at Horace Mann Middle School, with campers sleeping in classrooms, eating in the cafeteria, and enjoying evening programs of live music, games, play acting and devotionals in the gym. The cafeteria was staffed by adult volunteers serving food for breakfast and dinner and prepare food for lunch at their work sites. These adults also insure a safe place for the kids to stay.
Group Workcamps and Fountain Park UMC strongly believe in providing opportunities for teenagers to encounter Jesus Christ through serving others in the community. Besides giving thanks to members of her fellow church family for their time and effort, Lisa Radder also recognizes the following organizations and businesses that donated time, materials and money: Johnsonville Sausage, Sargento Cheese, Old Wisconsin Sausage, Palo Popcorn, Al & Al’s Steinhaus, Thrivent, First Congregational Church, Love Inc., N.E. UMC Circuit 12, and Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation. She added, “this was an awesome example of how individuals and organizations came together to help so many others in our community. We are all truly blessed by their generosity!”
