Church Family Bowling Party
February 25, 2024
Dozens of our church family got together at Odyssey Fun Center in Sheboygan Falls for a bowling party for all ages and abilities.  Not only was there plenty of pin action, the gutter saw its share of action to.  So no part of the bowling alleys was left undisturbed.  The kids made use of the gutter guards, but the adults had to “fling it” and sometimes hope for the best.  But no matter what the score was, laughter and fun was the big hit.

Also lots of members came out just to watch and cheer everyone on and get an afternoon of laughs.  There was no shortage what to see as scores ranged from the 50’s to the 200’s.  So there was a variety of bowling skills to see.

This was the first family bowling party, and judging by the turnout and the fun, it looks like this could be an annual event.

Feed My Starving Children (October 7, 2023):  Fourteen volunteers from FPGMC joined other volunteers to pack food that will be distributed throughout the world to starving children.  The work if fun and fast paced.

The FPGMC volunteers worked a 2 hour shift that goes by quickly.  Our job is to fill packets with dried vegetables, vitamins, rice and protein and pack them in a box.  We packed a total of 23.5 boxes and each box contains 36 packets.  We filled a total of 846 food packets.  That equals 5,076 meals that will feed 14 hungry children for a year.

Church Family Picnic (June 25, 2023):   Even though the weather forecast wasn’t favorable, we went full speed ahead with our plans for the picnic.  God blessed us as the storms and rain moved around us with only an occasional shower.  The day turned out wonderful for the 43 members of Fountain Park GMC who attended the annual picnic.

As always there was plenty pf delicious homemade food, desserts and of course brats & burgers for everyone.  Plus summer refreshments like ice cold lemonade to quench our thirst.

Several attendees participated in dart baseball games.  While others enjoyed socializing with past members that were in attendance.   It was a good time for all at our annual church family picnic at Veteran’s Park in Sheboygan.

Thank you to everyone that made donations for this fun day and to the Adult & Family Committee for organizing this annual event!

FPC Golf Open (April 30, 2023):  Our 6th annual Golf Open was a fun day of puttering around 18-holes of miniature golf.  About 40 golfers took part on a course that was laid out throughout the church basement.  All the holes have a theme with obstacles that add to the challenge and laughs.  Some hole themes were; the outhouse hole, railroad hole, soccer hole, Noah’s Ark hole, road construction hole, and kitchen hole.  Some holes had multiple holes in layers.  Andy Schmidt navigated the course with the best score of 43.  While Kelly Johnston collected the most hole-in-ones with 5.    A hot lunch was served which include a “Sandwich in the Rough” (Sloppy Joes), “Pick Your Slice” (Pickle spears), Chip Shots (Potato Chips), On-The-Green (Lettuce Salad), Bucket of Balls (Melon Balls), Hole-in-one (Doughnut Holes), among other delicious food and fantastic desserts.   It was a wonderful day of fun, food and fellowship for our church family!!!

Hymn Sing and Pie/Ice Cream Social (April 23, 2023):  This is the first of four events celebrating Fountain Park Church 175th Anniversary.

The event started at 2:00pm with a hymn sing attended by 75 people in the sanctuary.  Many of our favorite hymns were sung as will as performances by the adult choir, bell choir and the men’s sextet.  In addition, our organ was re-dedicated after repairs and major upgrades for the past year.

After the program, everyone gathered in Fellowship Hall for a variety of delicious desserts and ice cream.
